AkzoNobel Industrial Chemicals is listed as Active Substance and/or Biocidal Product supplier pursuant to Article 95 of the BPR on the so-called Art. 95 list, on behalf of the relevant legal entities of AkzoNobel (the legal entity transfer from AkzoNobel to Nouryon will happen at a later stage). For our customers we can provide a ‘statement on delivery’, by which we declare that we are mentioned in the Article 95 list.

The Active Substances ‘Sodium Hypochlorite’ and ‘Chlorine’ are approved by the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1273 and 2017/1275 of 14 July 2017 for PTs 1-5. The approval for PT 11 and 12 is expected after 2023.

The Active Substance ‘chlorine generated from sodium chloride by electrolysis’ was approved in April 2018 for PT 1-5. The approval for PT 11 is expected after 2023.

AkzoNobel Industrial Chemicals is a member of the EuroChlor Biocides Registration Group, responsible for the biocides dossier of the Active Substances Chlorine & Sodium Hypochlorite.

Biocidal Products

Following the approval of the biocidal Active Substances, we will also apply for approval of our products as Biocidal Products:

  • The Biocidal Product Authorisation for Sodium Hypochlorite will be accomplished by end of 2018 for PT 1-5 (PT 11/12 is expected beyond 2023, after these PT’s have been approved for the Active Substance).
  • The Biocidal Product Authorisation for Salt for PT 1-5 is expected in 2019/2020 (PT 11 is expected beyond 2023, after this PT has been approved for the Active Substance).
  • Industrial Chemicals is a member of consortia that are developing Biocidal Product dossiers for Sodium Hypochlorite and Salt.
